Since year 2005 NUS implemented the project titled “Access to Primary Health Care Services and Nutrition Support for the Slum Based Ultra Poor People” in Khilgaon Thana funded by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and NUS’s own contribution.
Since 2012 NUS has been implementing the project titled “HIV/AIDS Prevention Services for Street Based Sex Workers and their Clients”. Package # SP-2 in Jessore district funded by World Bank/National AIDS/STD Program (NASP). Primary health care service is the main component of this project. NUS is providing service for 300 sex workers and their clients.
NUS has successfully completed the projects below:
“HIV & AIDS and primary health care services for Street Based Sex Workers” with PIACT Consortium in Noakhali district since December 2009 to June 2011 funded by World Bank and NASP. NUS has provided health care service for 350 commercial sex workers and their clients under this project.
“HIV & AIDS and primary health care services for Street Based Sex Workers” with DORP Consortium in Chittagong, Barisal, Bhola and Noakhali districts since August 2004 to March 2009 funded by UNICEF/ World Bank and NASP. NUS has provided health care service for 6000 commercial sex workers and their clients under this project.
