Non Formal Education

Basic Literacy Project (BLP) in Rangunia, Lohagora, Satkania and Sawndipthana at Chittagong district funded by Bureau of Non Formal Education (BNFE) under the ministry of primary and mass education. Providing Non-Formal Education among 72,000 (36,000 male, 36,000 female) adult learners in Rangunia, Lohagora, Satkania and Sawndip thana at Chittagong district.NUS has provided Non-Formal Education to 9022 persons (4800 Women 2700 Men 1522 Children) under different projects in Kotowali and Doublemooring under Chittagong, Badda, Gulshan, Uttara, Cantonment, Kafrul, and Khilkhet under Dhaka, Sujanagar, Atgaria and Bhangura under Pabna Damudda in Shariatpur and Dewanganj of Jamalpur and six divisions like- Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet.

Under the project titled “Eradication of Hazardous Child Labour in Bangladesh (EHCLB)” since 2002 to till to date. NUS has provided Non- Formal Education (NFE) School, library, vocational training centers, job linkage to 1200 children involve in hazardous work.

Under the project titled ’Capacity Building, Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Livelihood of the Socially Disadvantaged Women & their Children’ NUS has provided 09 months Non- Formal Education to 2100 Commercial Sex Workers 59 Adolescents and 215 Children of Sex Workers and 274 of their children in 2000 to 2008. The Project was funded by UNDP/DSS/Ministry of Social Welfare.

Under the project titled “Post Literacy and Continuing Education for Human Development (PLCEHD) since 1998 to 2007.NUS has provided Non Formal Education (NFE) School, library, vocational training centers, job linkage and recreation facilities to 2700 Women 2700 Men in Atgharia, Sujanagar, Bhangura at Pabna district and Damudda in Shariatpur and Dewanganj of Jamalpur district for rural poor people. Under these projects total 5400 people received Non-Formal Education.

Under the project titled “Sustainable Rehabilitation and Reintegration of the Child Victims of Trafficking for Labour and Sexual Exploitation” for NUS has provided 06 months Non-Formal Education to 48 trafficked victims in 2005 to 2006.
