Till to date NUS has provided HIV/AIDS Prevention Services for Internal Migrants and Clients of Sex Workers, Street Based Sex Workers under different projects in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet Rangpur, Dinajpur, Faridpur, Jessore, Mymensingh, Noakhali, Bhola and Narayangong Districts and six divisions like- Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet.
HIV/AIDS Prevention Project for the internal migrants, clients of sex workers, border people, Street based sex workers, young people, law enforcers, transport workers, ward commissioners, informal local leaders, local govt. bodies; community based migrant organizations’ staff, rickshaw pullers, industrial workers, port laborers, students of universities, colleges and schools; advocacy & support for the HIV positive women & children. Activities under the projects are –
Baseline survey, STI management, Patient referral service, Referral service STI and Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT), Advocacy Meeting, One to one discussion, Focus Group, Discussion (FGD), Condom promotion, General health care service, IEC material distribution, Psychosocial counseling, Outreach based peer Approach, Drop in Center facilities where target people can resting and get bath. Recreational facilities are also there.
