Introduction
NARI UNNAYAN SHAKTI (NUS)

Nari Unnayan Shakti, NUS (Women’s Power for Development) is a non-political, non-profit making and secular voluntary organization. Since its inception in 1992, NUS has been continuing journey towards the goal for empowerment of women, adolescents and children. At present, the organization supports around 15,77,500 people in the areas of education, health, human rights, environment development and self-reliance covering 18 districts under 8 divisions of the country throughout 122 service outlets. 

VISION OF NUS:

NUS would like to see violence free and gender balanced Bangladesh where people enjoy fundamental rights in a well-developed society.

MISSION OF NUS:

Mission is to bring positive changes and ensure human rights for the poor and disadvantaged people especially women and children in many fold sectors of education, health, economic, human rights and socio-cultural environment in both rural and urban areas.

OBJECTIVES:

i) To ensure access to health care and family planning services for poor and high-risk people especially women and children.

ii) To alleviate poverty through livelihood development by education, skill development and income generation.

iii) To create enabling environment for establishing human rights, reducing gender discrimination through developing leadership, advocacy, awareness, shelter home and legal aid.

iv) To promote behavior and practice through activities leading to pollution free and friendly environment.

  • Directorate of Women Affair’s registered
  • Directorate of Family Planning affiliated
  • Directorate of Youth Development registered
